1C:MES
Operational management of the shop floor: the production schedule by operation and work center, tasks for shifts, quality control and the report of each shift.
1C:MES is the 1C program for operational management of production; its name in Russian is "1С:MES Оперативное управление производством". It turns the production plan into a schedule of operations, gives out tasks to shifts and records how they are done, so a deviation from the schedule is seen on the day it happens.
What it covers
- Product structure and routes. Composition of finished and semi-finished products, routes through departments and warehouses, time and cost standards of operations.
- Production orders. The list of orders for production and for repairs, calculation of their due dates and later corrections.
- Operational planning. The production program, the timetable and the schedule of production with the transport time between departments, and a new calculation when the situation changes.
- Dispatching. Production tasks, the progress of operations recorded as they are done, control of deadlines.
- Quality control. Quality checks in the course of production.
- Output and pay. The production report of a shift and piecework orders.
- Materials and products. Movement of materials, parts and products between warehouses and workshops.
Who it suits
Manufacturing companies where a workshop performs many operations on shared equipment, and the plan of the month has to become a schedule of the shift.
Delivery and licences
1C:MES works on its own or together with 1C:ERP and 1C:PLM. In that case economic calculations and statutory accounting stay in the ERP system, design and process preparation in PLM, and the schedule and control of operations in MES. Workplaces and the server are licensed separately: see the page about the 1C:Enterprise 8 platform and licences.
What we do
- Survey of the workshop: operations, work centers and the way the plan reaches a shift today.
- Setup of product structures, routes, standards and planning rules.
- Exchange with 1C:ERP or another accounting system: orders come in, output and consumption go back.
- Training of planners, dispatchers and foremen, and support after go-live.

ERP user training and pilot operation: what to plan
Instructions by role, training on the company's own data, the cost of an inconvenient screen and a pilot with written dates and exit criteria.

What the client signs when an ERP system is accepted
A signed check list shows that functions work. Tests on the future data volume and number of users show whether they will stay fast.

Master data: one item list that planning, the warehouse and accounting can trust
Why duplicate items distort stock, cost and reports at once, who decides what a duplicate is, and why the entry of new items is controlled first.
