1C:Enterprise 8 platform and licences
How 1C programs are licensed: the application, client licences for workplaces and the server licence.
All 1C business applications run on one platform, 1C:Enterprise 8. An application is bought once together with a licence for one workplace. More users are added with client licences, and work in client-server mode needs a server licence.
What a set of licences consists of
- The application. The main delivery contains the platform, the application itself and a licence for one workplace.
- Client licences. Additional workplaces, in sets from one workplace to several hundred. The number of client licences sets how many users can work at the same time.
- Server licence. 1C:Enterprise 8 Server for work in client-server mode with a database management system. It is needed when many users work at once and the database is large.
- PROF and CORP levels. CORP licences add functions for large installations: fault tolerance and scaling of the server cluster, additional administration and security options.
- Protection. Licences are activated by PIN codes on the computer or supplied on USB keys.
Ways to work
- On a computer in the office, in file mode for a few users or in client-server mode.
- Through a browser and from mobile devices, without installing the program at the workplace.
- From branches and from home through a remote connection to the company's server.
When to review the licences
- The number of users has grown and people wait for a free licence.
- The company moves from file mode to client-server mode.
- A corporate product is being introduced and needs CORP licences.
- Servers are replaced or moved to a virtual environment.
What we do
- Calculation of the set of licences for the number of users and the way of work.
- Supply of licences as an official 1C partner and their registration.
- Installation of the platform and the server, transfer of licences when equipment changes.
- Advice on the server and the database management system for the expected load.
